Having read Anne Frank's diary many, many years ago and remembering its powerful effect on me then, I wanted to explore this graphic novel as a new way of seeing the book. I haven't always been a huge fan of graphic novels, but I'm coming round to them. The illustrations are beautiful and add an emotional depth, particularly where they depict Anne's imagination and dreams. Before buying, I had thought it would go in my Y6 book corner for our WW2 topic. However, although I will be using parts of it in class, I feel that some of the content is more appropriate for accessing independently in at secondary age.
