This sequel to ‘The Railway Children’ is this book, and it is very exciting and lovely. Bombs were dropping down on London at WWII and Eddie had to leave her mother - Fliss (Phyllis) - and go to the countryside where Aunt Roberta, Fliss and Uncle Peter lived when they were kids as the Railway Children in Three Chimneys. After Phyllis and Roberta had an argument, they sadly never wrote or met each other again and Phyllis joined the ATA team to fly plains to where they need to be. Aunt Roberta and Uncle Peter looked after Eddie. Eddie made loads of funny, kind friends like Gus, Greta, Perky and Karl the German airman. They worked together to stop the evil Colonel being a spy sending railway information to Hitler. This is a recommended book from me. From Coach Gloriana Waterfall

I thought the book was good with lots of information about aeroplanes and trains. The best person I liked in the book was Edie because she was always / sometimes there to help Gus and Greta if they are struggling. She also had the idea to put Karl, who is German to hid in their HQ. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes aeroplanes or trains.

It was a great and interesting book. I love how Gus and Greta met their father and mother in the end Edie met Fliss again.

This was a perfect sequel to an already amazing book. This is set in the countryside during the wartime. The mystery element is fantastic and the secrets found out were worth this wonderful read.

I loved this book because the book was very interesting and when I read a page it was enough to convince me to read another.It had a lot of action in it and it was also funny.It was fiction and my favorite person was the girl named Edie and her mother was in the war and she had met new friends named Gus,Greta,Perky and she even found out that Gus,Greta were German

This book was interesting at the start, but then I got more unattached to the book nearing to the end of the book. It seemed interesting at the start and midway of the book, and I was very into the book! But then it just when down from there. I don’t know if it was just me, but I wasn’t interesting at the start anyways. I hope someone else enjoys this book, but that person wasn’t me.

I loved this book because it showed that even though someone is your enemy they can be nice on the inside. I loved the characters and the mystery is exciting.

I think this book was extravagant. It enthrals the reader throughout. My favourite character is Eddie! I definitely recommend this book. Lou Kuenzler is brilliant author.

I thought this sequel to the classic was as interesting and as exciting as the original! Lou Kuenzler made a speech about this new book recently, near where I live. The book has an unexpected twist at the end, which I am certain that no one will expect either! That final twist occurs right at the end of the book, so it finishes on a high note. I would recommend it 5 stars for this story set in World War 2. Brief introduction to the story- Edie is a young girl, just like any ordinary young girl, but is evacuated from London where she lives with her single mother, Phil. Phil's elder, wise sister lives up in the country, so when Edie's classmates are evacuated, Edie is told to go somewhere. Phil arranges for Edie to stay with Aunt Roberta until the war is over. On the train journey there, Edie meets this boy who is her age and his little sister. The boy may seem annoying at first sight, but before long the trio are the best of friends, and always will be.
