From the author of The Girl Who Stole an Elephant comes another brilliant escapade. Razi, a local fisherboy, is watching turtle eggs hatch when he sees a boat bobbing into view. With a chill, he notices a small, still hand hanging over the side… Inside is Zheng, who’s escaped a shipwreck and is full of tales of sea monsters and missing treasure. But the villains who are after Zheng are soon after Razi and his sister, Shifa, too. And so begins an exhilarating adventure in the shadow of the biggest sea monster of them all…

This was a very good book because it had a great sense adventure and was very dramatic. The whale was very kind particularly when he saved the lives of the children. I'd recommend it to children aged 8 and over.

I liked Razi because he was determined and clever. He also survived being in a whale’s mouth. I also liked Shifa because she helped with healing and she persisted. I would recommend this book.

It was a gripping story but I felt that it needed to be explained a bit more. Otherwise, it was brilliant.

I liked this book because it was all about trust.Razi decided to trust Zheng and in the end it turned out all right and out shows that it is always worth a try.At the beginning of the book,Zheng was boastful and liked to show of but he learned that he wasn’t the greatest and started to be really nice. The person I liked best was Shifa.
